Simply Blinds FAQ

Mounting depth changes with the style of the blind. Some require more depth than others. This is why it is so important to have professionals assess and measure your window frames to help you decide what will work best! This way, you don’t take responsibility if the shade or blind doesn’t fit properly.

Faux wood blinds are moisture-resistant and will not warp or fade when exposed to humidity. Faux wood blinds are ideal for high-humidity areas like bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, etc. Wood blinds are lightweight and provide a traditional look; however, they are not recommended in south or west-facing windows with prolonged periods of direct sun.

Top-Down, Bottom-Up shades are no longer available due to Health Canada’s anti-strangulation law. However, we have Day/Night Shades, which provide a similar function. When you bring the top of the shade down, a light-filtering sheer shade is exposed, allowing you to see through the sheer. When you bring the top back up, the regular complete privacy and blackout shade is in place. Then, of course, you can lift the shade entirely from the bottom up to expose the window.

The most common motorization option is a rechargeable motor. The cable plugs into the motor like you would plug in your smartphone! Depending on how often your shades are operated will determine how often the motors will need to be recharged. Motors hold 6-12 months of charge, depending on the manufacturer and usage.

Remotes are available in 1-channel, 5-channel, 15-channel, 41-channel, etc. Depending on how many motorized blinds you have will determine which remote will work best. Channels can be programmed to operate one single blind or multiple blinds simultaneously!
